The Game Operator Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in School Education

The Game Operator” is a KA2 Erasmus+ project that explores the potential of Game-Based Learning and gamification as innovative tools for education, inclusion, and active participation.

The project brings together partners from different European countries to develop new methodologies and strengthen the skills of teachers, educators, and trainers, with particular attention to disadvantaged school contexts and students with diverse educational needs.

Learning Through Play
At the heart of the project is the idea that play can be much more than entertainment. Games can encourage participation, motivation, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and meaningful learning.
Through training, experimentation, and the exchange of European good practices, The Game Operator aims to develop professionals who can design and facilitate educational game-based activities adapted to different learners and environments.

Building More Inclusive Learning Experiences
The project promotes educational approaches that help make learning more engaging, accessible, and inclusive, while supporting educators in responding to challenges such as school disengagement, learning difficulties, and social exclusion. Project results will include educational resources, case studies, training materials, and digital tools that can be used and adapted by schools and educators across Europe.

KINITRO in The Game Operator
KINITRO participates as a project partner, contributing its experience in non-formal education, inclusion, accessibility, and innovative learning methodologies. The project runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2027 and is coordinated by Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) in Italy. The first European training activity took place in Bologna in May 2026, bringing together educators, teachers, and trainers to explore Game-Based Learning in practice.

The Partnership
The project brings together five organisations from four European countries, combining expertise in education, inclusion, youth work, and game-based learning:

Italy
Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) – Project Coordinator
Associazione Communia

Croatia
Srednja škola – Centar za odgoj i obrazovanje

Spain
Impulsa Igualdad

Greece
KINITRO AMKE

Together, the partners exchange methodologies, develop educational resources, test game-based approaches in their local contexts, and contribute to defining the role of the Game Operator as an educator capable of designing and facilitating meaningful learning through play.

The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
